A peek into our "average" life

Howdy -

This week was fantastic! W & G had their baby - Taryn!! I'm an aunt - kids are thrilled to have a 1st 1st cousin! We actually set up skype and it works, cool!! Went shopping with friends - good stuff. Organized and prepared for the school Charity Fair.

Yesterday was the Charity Fair at school(think carnival games run by parent volunteers & school cookout) - fun - kids had a blast. And of course, us moms thrive on working so hard and being exhausted at the end of the day... but we are happy! Then the evening with Jamie at a birthday party and the rest of us at one of our favorite resturants with friends (other parents of kids at the same party! ha!)

We're looking forward to India Week at school (the girls' classes are doing special stuff), ortho appt, special show at the end of the week. Kind of average life, right?!

This is a peek at our Sunday since hubby left at 1 am for the good ole USA (that's a whole other blog entry - all major flights international leave/arrive in the middle of the night, ugh)...

Party next door, that started at midnight, stopped at 2 and did not carry on into today (whew)
Joey and Jamie were first up.
Anna woke me up (awww, isn't she cute)
Jamie made pancakes
Joey and Jamie did homework
Anna and Alina argued
Jamie and Joey straightened room and tooted horns

Alina locked herself (out of curiosity) in their bedroom then couldn't get the skeleton key to unlock the door. We all remained very calm. She followed instructions nicely... pulled off the mosquito netting, climbed on the window grate to unlock/open the window to toss the key to Jamie below/outside. Jamie warned " toss it so it gets past the ledge". Guess where it landed. No panic. a little weepy. Joey used the Indian "ladder" to scale up to the ledge and retrieve the key. All ended well. Calm and lessons learned by all. No more locking doors.

Laundry was started.
Kids unloaded a weeks worth of stuff from the van (clarifications:girls stuff)

Church service on roof.. nice... boys really sang and led.

Now girls are playing
Boys watching movie.
I'm typing and soon to be clearing table, organizing med receipts & tax records.
Later we'll go around the block - girls on bikes, boys and mom on foot.

It's been a nice day to regroup!!

Oh yeah - we are still in India!!!
