Changing of the Guard... or schedule

Having 4 kids means a great juggling act. Until recently, we've been able to maintain a nice balance. The girls have been in similar activities, the boys' activities fit nicely in the scheme of things. Then WHOOSH - it all changed. We had been coasting through our "typical weeks" from August - Gymnastics T & TH, Boy Scouts after Gym on T, misc appointments on Wednesday... then we added piano for 2. Then came High School Soccer (ROCK ON, High School-er - way cool...OK, that was a nerdy mom thing to say, apologies to the cool high school-er) scatter 6:30 AM practices and some very late night games on T & Fri... things got a bit more chaotic. Then WHAM the tenacious little power house was invited to join THE TEAM as in THE competitive gymnastics team. This is quite convenient as it will help her with her goal of competing in the Olympics in the near future :) BUT WOW! Did it ever throw a monkey wrench in the plans on the weekly white board!!! She has shifted the universe... M W & F... 4-7PM. (And she loves it) (Oh yeah, and it's 45 minutes away, where is my Indian Driver when I need him)

So last week was the first week of playing the whole new scheme out. But I had scheduled some "regular" appointments into the mix... which lead to the Changing of the Guard on Wednesday...

"Oh Hubby, dear... would you mind taking Jamie to the eye Doctor??"

"No problem."

"Well, before that, you need to pick up Alina from school, she's at an after school activity; check Jamie out, take him to the eye doctor; return Alina to piano; pick up Joey from the High School after soccer; and get Jamie to walk Alina home after Piano. There are leftovers in the fridge. Do I need to write this down??"

Then the dog threw up.

All on Wednesday.

Thanks, Dear!
