wahoo - we ran away!!

Well, we did it - got a wild hair and ran away from Chennai. OK, peer pressure really had a huge amount of an affect on the decision. That and I was going to go bonkers. So we booked a flight and a room at ... wait for it ... Disneyland Hong Kong! Wahoo! (yes, we really did it!) even better - didn't tell the kids where we were going until we were heading to the airport! HA!

Hong Kong is amazing!! I must confess, we ate at the HK airport - at BURGER KING!!! (And yes, it really was lunch time - what a great excuse!!) I was so shocked at the cleanliness and orderliness. It's amazing! Crazy taxi to the hotel - so Disney! We spent the first evening checking out the real Hong Kong (not Disney!). Streets were amazing. Buildings soooo tall. People wearing all sorts of styles. MTR (metro train) was fun and easy and clean. And we made it to the top of The Peak for an awesome view of Hong Kong. Then the next two days were Disney...ok, 1 / 2 of today I was hoping to head to Lantau Island sites (big huge Budda, Cable car, monestary) but we didn't quite have the details correct ... the cable car was on its last trip up when we got there! Maybe tomorrow before the bus tour of the New Territories (which aren't really new!) we'll make it to the Budda. Our flight back to Chennai is not until 11:45 PM so we have ALL DAY! More on Disney later - it was disney on a smaller scale. More on Hong Kong later, too . (Other than AWESOME!)
