These were the "paper plates" provided by a friend's "staff" for a birthday party. Recycling at it's best. Usually, the paper plates are cut from pieces of tetrapak boxes (juice boxes)... these were literally circles cut from BANK records, complete with the date (2004), handwritten notes and account numbers. Oh, they had been processed into plates with pleats along the edges... but just not quite!
The same weekend we were with other friends at a beach. They needed a cooler and asked their driver (who lived in the nearby fishing village) if he had a cooler at his house. Ah, "yes, sir", this is what appeared... This is the REALITY CHECK... these coolers were given to the fishing villages as they recovered from the tsunami!!! see, made you go hmmmmmmm...
