Here's the quick list of the past couple of days:
- new driver - our "permanent" driver started yesterday - Kumar likes to take "shortcuts" - bumpy and through really cool side streets and villages!
- Went shopping for the initial groceries - paid almost $20 for 6 slices of turkey sandwich meat & 200 g of cheddar cheese. We need an alternative!!
- New phones - yes, we now have Indian cell phone numbers & the phones are cool, too!
- gas tanks for the stove/oven & water bottles (7 x25 liters) were delivered to the house.
- TV installed and cable on - only Tamil stations though!!
- garden plants were planted - around 200 little plants all around the perimeter of the yard - it has potential!!
- went to a household supply store for plastic yard chairs and a squeegee/mop. You check out (your stuff goes somewhere towards the door), take the slip of paper to the cashier, then the slip to the bagger in a different spot! Then get your stamped (twice) slip and goods!
- need more eggs than just 6!! Kumar doesn't really get numbers in English. We'll work on that!!
- met with the drapes man - he measured then we sat at the hotel going through rooms and swatches - "10 days, mam" we'll see them when we get there
- picking out the fabric was a hoot (flashback 2 days!), me in a decoration center - each kid picking their own fabric - what a bunch of opinions!!
- kids enjoyed the pool at the house for the first time - the girls can't touch - good thing we brought some floating rings!!
- enjoyed our last night at the hotel before taking up our permanent residence in the house on the beach!!

The kids keep watching the video you posted and think it is just the coolest thing that bikes, cycles, the yellow cars, and normal cars just flow with no rules. Love it. Hope you like your driver Kumar. take care ya'll fyi...it is sometimes difficult to post comments.
